Why did you choose Pixelz?

Mikaela: We worked with another company before, a small Swedish company, but it is easier with Pixelz. Using FTP and uploading-downloading pictures is easier, and management is easier: we set up a guideline and you follow that, basically. With the other company, each time we had to tell them what we wanted them to do. It took a lot of time whenever we sent the images.

How does Pixelz fit into your workflow?

Mikaela: We shoot all of our images here, and then each of our five photographers sends the images on their own. We photograph everything based on the collection, so we get the brands in and then our Inbound Department delivers everything to the warehouse. We are stationed at the warehouse, and when a new thing comes in, we pick one item of each to photograph. Then each photographer sends the pictures to Pixelz through FTP, and we bring them back the day after.

We always make sure an image is up to our standards, and we always check the quality before we publish anything. Sometimes we have to assemble some images to make a collage, or a set piece, and we do that and then we publish everything from here.

Pierre, you’re a creative director. Do you have difficulty communicating your aesthetic for retouching?

Pierre: No. It’s difficult, but at the same time, we need to set basic standards in order to make this big machine, because we can’t wait to work with each garment individually. We need to set rules for basic behavior for each, create standard settings.

Mikaela: Yeah, but also each garment is unique. We try to give Pixelz the best directions we can, and sometimes that’s difficult because you don’t see the product; I mean, you don’t have them in front of you the same way we do. Sometimes it is hard to shoot certain garments and then we have to go in and do some retouch on our own just because it’s hard for you guys to know and it’s hard for us to explain, but in the overall, I think it’s good.

How responsive has Pixelz been to your needs?

Mikaela: I think Pixelz has been helpful, and our account managers really try to help us make everything work in the best way. We work together to make every image as good as possible. I think that they have helped us there.

You recently acquired another brand, AlexandAlexa. How was that?

Mikaela: It has been challenging in parts, and of course exciting. It’s always fun to get more work to do and to meet new challenges. AlexandAlexa crops their images in a different way, and they had another style to their images when we started. Pixelz has helped us set up new specifications and get that rolling. I think it works great now.

What results have you seen from using Pixelz?

Pierre: I think the best advantage is the workflow. There’s quite a high standard with the workflow, and you don’t need us to give directions all the time. The quality is quite high and the process is quite solid.

Mikaela: I agree. It’s pretty rare that we need to send images back.

Do you have any final thoughts about Pixelz?

Pierre: I think it seems quite professional in all steps. I’ve also seen some video material from your office in Vietnam. It seems like it’s quite Western, and it’s important for us to see that your staff is treated well, and that office seems to be nice.

For Babyshop, we are aiming for solutions that are okay for everyone, that work for everyone. For our suppliers, too, we check that they’re working with solutions that are okay for everyone.

Would you recommend Pixelz?

Pierre: Yes, it’s a good solution.

Mikaela: Absolutely.

Not sure which plan is for you?
